Still making up for lost time, we decided to take another two-week trip with friends. We traveled to Slovenia & Croatia with a day-trip into Montenegro  and a necessary crossing through Bosnia & Herzegovina. When living in the states, a trip to Croatia was on our bucket list. Living in Europe now, the trip was so much more affordable. I am late in posting about this trip as shortly after returning, we then took a long-overdue two-week trip to the USA to visit family. I am now finally getting caught-up.

We all thought Croatia & Montenegro were stunning and the Adriatic sea is gorgeous. Below are some of highlights of this memorable trip.

We flew into Ljubljana, Slovenia and drove to visit Lakes Bled and Bohinj:

Zagreb, Croatia was our next stop on our one-way drive to Dubrovnik:

Rovinj, Croatia: in the Istria peninsula which was part of Italy until 1945.

A stop in Pula as we drove south.

Plitvice Lakes in Croatia: jaw-dropping beauty even on a misty day.

Zadar, Croatia:

Krka National Park in Croatia:

Trogir, Croatia:

Split, Croatia:

Continuing south:

Crossing through Bosnia & Herzegovina for 20km
Back to Croatia

Dubrovnik, Croatia: An amazing view from our apartment and a charming Old Town.

A Day Trip to Montenegro:

Border crossing..
...then a ferry ride

Budva, Montenegro:

Kotor, Montenegro:

Bay of Kotor: breath-taking.

Peljesac Penisula & Ston: a day-trip to this wine region of Croatia with great wines and a gorgeous coastal drive.

Returning to Dubrovnik

A great time was had by all and we hope to return.
