May is my absolute favorite month to travel around Portugal. By June, many of the places we visited on this trip will be too hot for me.  We took advantage of the ideal weather and set-off on another road trip. This time, we spent a week exploring the northeast corner of the country. We avoided highways and drove mostly on the scenic N103. We focused on the eastern side of the huge Parque Nacional Peneda-Gerês to the northeastern corner around Bragança and Parque Natural de Montesinho.  Then we went south as far as Mogadouro and back across to Porto. 1219 kilometers. We never tire of the charm and natural beauty at every turn. This is just a fraction of the crazy number of photos I took.

A quick stop just north of Porto in Apúlia after getting the rental car.
