Expecting a hot July, we planned a joint trip with family to more-temperate Scotland. We met up with a daughter, son-in-law, and two grandkids (9 & 11) for a couple (mostly sunny) days in Edinburgh. Then, we drove around the highlands together in a large SUV with almost no luggage space on the “wrong” side of the narrow roads. It was a grand adventure in spite of the unusually cold and wet weather (even for Scotland.) We still had a lot of fun, enjoyed the lush green scenery, and made many great memories.
